GingerGoat Read-A-Mations is operated by GingerGoat Publishing (“GingerGoat”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and includes our mobile and TV applications (“Apps”), devices and products that integrate with our service (“Products”), and our websites and other online channels (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains how GingerGoat collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Services, and describes the choices available to you. Please read it carefully.
If you have any questions, you can contact us using the contact details provided in the Apps or on our website.
“Read-A-Mation™” and “GingerGoat Read-A-Mations™” are trademarks of GingerGoat Publishing.
GingerGoat Read-A-Mations™ combines storybooks, 3D animation, read-along text, voice-over options, music, and sound to create safe, educational, ad-free screen time that encourages a love of reading.
Because many of our users are children, we take privacy very seriously. In particular:
Children may only use the Services through an account created by a parent, guardian, or school (“Parent” or “School”).
We do not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from children without consent from a Parent or School.
We do not sell Personal Information or share it for third-party marketing purposes.
We do not use children’s Personal Information for marketing without appropriate consent.
Parents and Schools can access, review, and manage the information associated with a child’s profile.
Schools that use GingerGoat Read-A-Mations for learners are responsible for obtaining any required consent from Parents or guardians.
Parents and Schools are encouraged to talk to children about online safety and how to use the Services appropriately.
This Privacy Policy forms part of, and is governed by, our Terms of Service. We may provide additional privacy notices for specific features or regions; those notices form part of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites, apps, platforms, or services that you may access through or alongside our Services.
You and your child may only use the Services if you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
By creating an account, using the Services yourself, or allowing your child to use the Services, you confirm that:
You are the Parent or legal guardian of any child user, or
You are an authorised representative of a School that is registering learners to use the Services, and
You consent to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service on your own behalf and on behalf of any child or learner using the Services under your account or instruction.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you must not use the Services and must not allow your child or learners to use the Services.
BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICES IN ANY WAY, INCLUDING CREATING AN ACCOUNT OR ALLOWING A CHILD TO ACCESS THE SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND OUR TERMS OF SERVICE.
If you register or use the Services as an educator, school, school district, education department, or other educational organisation (collectively, “Schools”), you:
Agree to this Privacy Policy on your own behalf and on behalf of all learners and other end-users who access the Services through your School; and
Confirm that you are authorised to provide such consent.
Schools may provide access to the Services via:
A School-managed account on GingerGoat, and/or
The School’s learning management system or other technology platform (“LMS”).
The School, and not GingerGoat, is responsible for:
Determining what consent is required from Parents or guardians under applicable laws (for example COPPA, FERPA, POPIA, GDPR, or other national or regional laws), and
Obtaining and managing that consent.
Where applicable, GingerGoat will act as a “school official” or “operator” or “processor” for the School, using learner Personal Information only to provide and support the Services and for no other purposes, except as permitted by law or authorised by the School.
Parents of learners using the Services through a School should direct privacy requests (access, correction, deletion, etc.) to the School, which will liaise with GingerGoat where necessary.

Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, postal address, username, or similar identifiers.
Commercial information: subscription details, purchase history, or records of content viewed.
Educational information: information provided by Schools or Parents relating to a learner’s use of the Services.

Biometric or audio-visual information: such as recorded voice if you use a narration or audio recording feature, and any images or video you choose to share with us.
Internet and device activity: such as IP address, device identifiers, browsing or usage data relating to the Services.
Inferences: profiles or insights drawn from the above, such as preferences, interests, or usage patterns.
Some information is not treated as Personal Information under many privacy laws, such as:
Aggregated or anonymised data that cannot reasonably be linked back to an individual; and
Publicly available information as defined under the applicable law.
Our Services are designed for children to use through and under the supervision of Parents and Schools.
GingerGoat does not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from children without appropriate consent from a Parent or School. If we become aware that a child has provided Personal Information without such consent, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
We strongly encourage Parents and Schools to:
Supervise children’s use of the Services;
Set clear rules and boundaries for how and when children may use the Services; and
Educate children about online safety and privacy.
If you become aware that a child has provided Personal Information to GingerGoat without required consent, please contact us using the details provided in the Apps or on our website so that we can investigate and, if necessary, remove that information.
GingerGoat only collects, uses, retains, and discloses Personal Information as reasonably necessary to provide and improve the Services, to comply with legal obligations, or with your consent.

If the Services include a feature that allows you or your child to record audio (for example, recording your own narration of a story), and you choose to use it, we may collect:
We use these recordings to:
Create and store your narration or audio feature within your account; and
Provide playback or similar functionality within the Services.

We use this information to:
Respond to your queries or support requests

We use this information to:
Manage subscriptions

Your payment details are handled according to the payment provider’s own privacy and security policies.
In addition to the purposes described above, GingerGoat may use Personal Information to:
Protect the security and integrity of the Services and your account
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations, court orders, or lawful requests from authorities
Exercise or defend legal claims
Any other purpose to which you have expressly consented
GingerGoat keeps Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide the Services;
Fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy; or
Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting requirements.
For example:
Account information is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter, unless you request deletion earlier or the law requires us to keep it longer.
Data provided by Schools is retained for the duration of the School’s agreement with us and then deleted, anonymised, or returned to the School, subject to legal requirements.
Cookie and analytics data may be held for periods ranging from a few minutes to a few years, depending on the type and purpose.
We may retain certain records for longer where required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.
GingerGoat will not sell your Personal Information. We only share Personal Information in limited circumstances, as described below and in accordance with applicable law.
